A Day in Washington, D.C.– All Day Trip Wednesday, April 12th
AAUW Headquarters and  National Museum of Women in the Arts

This will be an all-day trip leaving at approximately 7:45 AM.  We will visit AAUW’s new National Headquarters for a presentation by the Senior Leadership staff on current programs and initiatives and the Association’s plans for the future.  Following this meeting, we will have lunch (details to be finalized).  After lunch, we will visit the National Museum of Women in the Arts including a guided tour.  Afterward our motor coach will take us on a tour to see the Cherry Blossoms (hopefully in full bloom).  And finally, we will have dinner at the Old Ebbitt Grill, an iconic tavern offering American meals.  By the time we finish dinner, hopefully rush-hour traffic will be over and we will arrive back in Carlisle at about 9:30 PM.  Both Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense. Only 25 seats are available.  Email or call to reserve your seat, but you must promptly remit payment payable to Don Mowery to secure your reservation.  Tentative Cost: $90.00

Dinner at Allenberry —  Wednesday, May 10 at 6:00pm
Allenberry Resort Inn and Playhouse expects to reopen in the spring.  Join with your AAUW friends to be among the first to experience the “reincarnation” of this grand establishment.  Having recently opened and in a “shake-down” period, the menu will likely be limited to four varied main dishes.  Three tables of eight are reserved.  Questions and reservations to Don Mowery at or 574-1080.  Prospective members, guests, spouses, and family are welcome to join us.

Gourmet Group

Diners gather bi-monthly to experience a new cuisine at an area restaurant or to prepare and enjoy a pre-planned menu with a specific culinary theme.  Spouses and companions are welcome.  Check the newsletter or Membership Yearbook for hostess name.
